Dice Run
Dice Run
Dice Run is a race to be the first player to reveal all six of their number cards.
Setup
Choose a Shroom and place your number cards (1 through 6) face down in front of you in order. Take 4 Gems and place the die in the center where everyone can reach it.
How to Play
On your turn, roll the die.
If you roll a number that is still face down, flip that matching card face up.
For example, if you roll a 4, flip your 4 card face up.
If you roll a number that is already face up, you may spend 1 Gem to do one of two special actions:
Protect: Place a Gem on one of your face up cards to Lock it. Locked cards cannot be turned face down by other players.
Attack: Turn an opponent's matching face up card face down. Locked cards cannot be attacked.
Magic Numbers
Every Shroom has a special Magic Number.
Whenever you roll your Shroom's Magic Number, immediately roll again and keep taking extra rolls until you roll a different number.
Running Out of Gems
If you have no Gems left, you can no longer Protect or Attack, but you can continue rolling and flipping your own cards as normal.
How to Win
The first player to flip all six of their number cards face up wins the game!
War
War
War is a battle of strategy, luck, and timing where players fight to be the last Shroom standing with Gems remaining.
Setup
Choose a Shroom and place it in front of you so everyone can see its color and Magic Number.
Shuffle the Attack Card deck and place it in the center of the table along with the die.
Each player starts with Gems:
- 2 Players: Start with 4 Gems each.
- 3 or More Players: Start with 6 Gems each.
How to Play
Each round, every player draws 3 Attack Cards from the deck and secretly chooses 1 card to play.
When everyone is ready, reveal the chosen cards at the same time.
The strongest card wins the round.
After the battle, discard all played cards and draw 3 new cards for the next round.
Card Strength
Cards are ranked from strongest to weakest:
Star > A > B > C > D > 6 > 5 > 4 > 3 > 2 > 1
Star cards defeat every other card in the game.
Color Bonus
If the color of your Attack Card matches the color of your Shroom, your card gains a +1 bonus.
For example, if your Yellow Shroom plays a Yellow 5 card, it counts as a 6 for that round.
Letter cards and Star cards do not gain additional bonuses.
Star Battles
If two or more players reveal Star cards in the same round, those players roll the die to decide the winner.
The highest roll wins the battle.
Tiebreakers
If two or more players reveal cards of equal strength, only the tied players roll the die.
The highest roll wins the tiebreak.
Magic Numbers
Whenever a tiebreak die is rolled, check your Shroom's Magic Number.
If your roll matches your Magic Number, gain 1 Gem immediately.
You gain the Gem whether you win or lose the tiebreak.
Losing Gems
After each round:
Two Players
The losing player loses 1 Gem.
Three or More Players
Every losing player loses 1 Gem.
The winner also steals 1 Gem from any player they choose.
Last Stand
When you lose your final Gem, you get one last chance to stay in the game.
Roll the die once.
If you roll your Shroom's Magic Number, you immediately gain 1 Gem and continue playing.
If you roll any other number, your Shroom is eliminated from the game.
Each player may only use Last Stand once per game.
How to Win
The last player with Gems remaining wins the game.
Elimination
Elimination
Elimination is a survival game where your Shroomiez battle one another until only one player's team remains.
Setup
Divide the Shroomiez evenly among all players.
Take a number of Gems equal to the number of Shroomiez you received.
Then draw the same number of Attack Cards from the deck.
Place the die in the middle of the table.
For example, if you begin with 4 Shroomiez, you also start with 4 Gems and 4 Attack Cards.
How to Play
Each round, every player secretly chooses:
- 1 Shroom to enter the battle.
- 1 Attack Card to play with that Shroom.
When everyone is ready, reveal your Shroom and Attack Card at the same time.
The strongest card wins the battle.
Card Strength
Cards are ranked from strongest to weakest:
Star > A > B > C > D > 6 > 5 > 4 > 3 > 2 > 1
Star cards defeat every other card in the game.
Color Bonus
If your Attack Card matches the color of your Shroom, your card gains a +1 bonus.
For example, if a Red Shroom plays a Red 5 card, that card counts as a 6 for that battle.
Letter cards and Star cards do not receive additional bonuses.
Star Battles
If two or more players play Star cards in the same round, those players roll the die to determine the winner.
The highest roll wins.
Tiebreakers
If two or more players reveal cards with the same strength, only the tied players roll the die.
The highest roll wins the tiebreak.
Magic Numbers
Whenever a tiebreak die is rolled, check your Shroom's Magic Number.
If the result matches that number, gain 1 Gem immediately.
You gain the Gem whether you win or lose the tiebreak.
Battle Results
After each battle:
- The winning Shroom survives and returns to its owner.
- The weakest losing Shroom is eliminated from the game.
- Any other surviving Shroomiez return safely to their owners.
- Played Attack Cards are discarded.
- Any unused Attack Cards remain in your hand.
Drawing More Cards
At any time during the game, you may spend 1 Gem to draw 1 new Attack Card from the deck.
Evolution
Whenever a Shroom wins a battle, you may spend 1 Gem to evolve it.
Place the Gem on that Shroom to show its evolution level.
Each evolution increases that Shroom's strength by +1 during future battles.
A Shroom may evolve up to three times for a maximum bonus of +3 strength.
A Shroom must win another battle before it can evolve again.
Champions Fall Too
Even the strongest Shroom can be defeated.
If an evolved Shroom loses a battle, it is eliminated just like any other Shroom.
Any evolution Gems placed on that Shroom are removed from the game.
How to Win
Continue battling until only one player has Shroomiez remaining.
That player wins the game.

Decide what players do on their turn.
For example:
- Do players roll a die?

3. Create Rules
Now decide how everything works together.
Think about:
- What Attack Cards do.

Build-a-Shroom
Build-a-Shroom
Build-a-Shroom lets you create your very own MushMash character by combining colors, creatures, numbers, and personality into a one-of-a-kind Shroom.
No two Shroomiez have to be the same, so be as creative as you want!
Step 1: Choose a Color
Every Shroom begins with a color.
Choose one of the four MushMash colors:
- Red
- Yellow
- Blue
- Green
This color becomes your Shroom's main color and team.
Step 2: Mix Its DNA
Every Shroom is part mushroom and part something else.
Decide what your mushroom was mixed with to create your new creature.
Was it mixed with an animal?
A dinosaur?
A robot?
A dragon?
Something nobody has ever imagined before?
Step 3: Draw Your Shroom
Now bring your idea to life.
Draw your new Shroom and add as many details as you want.
Think about:
- Its body shape
- Its mushroom cap
- Its eyes
- Its arms, legs, wings, fins, or tail
- Any special features or accessories
Step 4: Choose a Magic Number
Every Shroom has a special Magic Number.
You can either pick your favorite number or roll the die to choose one randomly.
Choose from:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6
This number may give your Shroom special advantages in different MushMash games.
Step 5: Choose an Ability Symbol
Pick one symbol for your Shroom:
- Club
- Heart
- Spade
- Diamond
This symbol represents your Shroom's special ability and personality.
Step 6: Choose a Vibe
What kind of personality does your Shroom have?
You can choose a zodiac sign for yourself, your Shroom, or simply pick the one that feels right.
This helps tell the story of who your Shroom is and how it acts.
Step 7: Name Your Shroom
Every great Shroom needs a great name.
Give your new creation a name that matches its look, personality, and powers.
You're Done!
Congratulations! Your Shroom is now ready to join the world of MushMash and compete in battles, adventures, and games of your own creation.
